The Dalgona Coffee Challenge: Completed!

Spiced Dalgona Coffee

Typically, I am suuuuuuper skeptical about trying internet food challenges. Most times they don't make sense to be honest, but, I decided to try this, Let me tell you... this one was worth the hype!

The taste was definitely not what I expected but in a good way! Now, here's the thing, this gonna be easier if you have a hand mixer because it does take a hot minute to get the fluffy consistency! By the time I was finished whipping my hands gave out. But, the satisfaction from knowing I whipped it myself made it better! I loved it!

This is pretty quick and easy to make and it sure is tasty. I don't think I can ever have regular iced-coffee anymore. I am gonna give you this recipe followed by tips and tricks to make your life easier, especially if you don't have a hand mixer.

Let me know if you've tried this and if you think it's worth it.

Prep Time: 10-20 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients:
2 tbsp hot water
2 tbsp instant coffee
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup of milk (any type milk can be used)
Ice chips

Let's Get Whippin'

  • In a cold stainless steel bowl add coffee, sugar, hot water, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  • Whisk this mixture until fluffy, this should take around 15 minutes for that thick coffee mixture to form.
  • In a glass, add ice and pour milk over it.
  • Scoop the fluffy coffee on top of the milk and ice. Serve chilled.

Danzii's Tips
  • Just use an electric mixer. That's it. That's the tip. Everything else is smooth sailing, I promise.
  • Not a fan of coffee, all good, you can use other instant powders like Nesquik.
  • Chill a bowl in the fridge prior to mixing, it helps the whipping process.

And boom, Dalgona Coffee:

Honestly, this a great pick-me-up during the day! If you are a coffee fiend then I would highly recommend this. Try it out and let me know if you think it's worth the hype or not.Until next time, from my kitchen to yours, "Bone Apple Teeth!"
