Danzii's Caramel Rum Sauce

Image
Easy Caramel Rum Sauce  So, if you are a lover of Caramel like me, you'll definitely enjoy this recipe for this super easy and decadent caramel rum sauce. Now, do keep in mind you can use heavy cream instead of evaporated milk or you can use regular cow's milk. In any case, this is a foolproof method of making caramel sauce at home. You can use this at anytime as a drizzle for desserts, pancake syrup substitute...or you know...other things! xoxo Danzii Instructions In a heavy bottom sauce pan, over medium-high heat add the butter, brown sugar, 1 tbsp of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes and stir occasionally.  In a separate cup combine vanilla and evaporated milk.  Once the mixture has been boiling for 5 minutes, slowly pour in the evaporated milk/vanilla mixture. It's gonna bubble up...just keep stirring till it comes together.  Cook for just 1 minute more, remove from heat and then add dark rum and mix well and set aside.

Sundays are for Brunch...So, Let's Brunch.

Seven Spice Buttermilk Fried Chicken topped with Rum Caramel Sauce & Pan Roasted Sweet Potatoes with a Brussels Sprout & Green Apple Slaw When I think brunch, I think about decadent composed dishes with something fried and sweet and a little acid. So, I decided to put my idea into action, and that's how the recipe came into being.  One of the things we will explore in this recipe is how versatile you can be without having traditional items required by certain recipes in your kitchen. Thing is, a lot time we may think we can't make something because we don't have an ingredient, but more times than not, there is often a very simple easy-to-find work around.  This recipe was inspired by my love for sweet potatoes in all their glory, and if you think about it everyone loves fried chicken. Now, my fried chicken only has 7 main spices, and unlike the Colonel S., I am okay with sharing my secret spices with you.  I really hope you enjoy this as much as...

Saturday Mornings were designed for Delicious Flavor-Boggling Breakfast

Image
Spiced Candied Ginger & Carrot Pancakes with a Maple-Flavored Cream Cheese Drizzle, Scrambled Eggs & Jerk Chicken Breast Slices I live for decadent breakfasts. I love making breakfast, I'd even go out on a limb and say that breakfast is probably my favorite thing to make. The reason for that is because I get to bring traditional non-breakfast flavors to breakfast.  One of my favorite sets of flavors, are Fall spices. I love vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sounds like I am making a cake, right? I am though...a panCAKE. *badumtss*  Today we're gonna learn how to make carrot pancakes. This recipe is particularly great for kids who are picky and won't eat vegetables. They  get the deliciousness of pancakes and a nice serving of vegetables.  And yes, it's for you too...because you deserve nice things just like everybody else. Try this and let me know how it went!  xoxo Danzii  Serves : 3-4 Prep Time : 60-90 minutes Ingredient...

The Dalgona Coffee Challenge: Completed!

Image
Spiced Dalgona Coffee Typically, I am suuuuuuper skeptical about trying internet food challenges. Most times they don't make sense to be honest, but, I decided to try this, Let me tell you... this one was worth the hype!  The taste was definitely not what I expected but in a good way!  Now, here's the thing, this gonna be easier if you have a hand mixer because it does take a hot minute to get the fluffy consistency! By the time I was finished whipping my hands gave out. But, the satisfaction from knowing I whipped it myself made it better! I loved it! This is pretty quick and easy to make and it sure is tasty. I don't think I can ever have regular iced-coffee anymore. I am gonna give you this recipe followed by tips and tricks to make your life easier, especially if you don't have a hand mixer.  Let me know if you've tried this and if you think it's worth it.  xoxo Danzii  Prep Time : 10-20 minutes Serves : 1 Ingredients:  ...

Rule Number 2 of Breakfast: Omelettes!

Image
Sautéed Tomato & Onion Chorizo Omelette with Pepper Jelly & Cream Cheese Toast with a Fresh Green Apple & Tarragon Salad Eggs are my favorite breakfast ingredient. Honestly, eggs are pretty bad-ass when you really think about their flexibility. Eggs reign supreme in the food chain, and this is why I believe that the egg came before the chicken. Anyway, let's not get into a whole evolutionary theory, let's talk about omelettes.  I love a nice fluffy omelette filled with a lot of  different ingredients that come together nicely. Of course, you don't have to wild out on fillings, but my palate is a little complex because I'm always looking for an extra kick of something.  Now, this Omelette should take about 30 mins, and since we're mostly home these days, we can find half hour in the morning to make a delicious breakfast  with easy-to-find kitchen ingredients.  This probably my prettiest omelette yet!  xoxo Danzii Serves : 2...

Traditional Pork Piccata with Herb Roasted Potatoes  &  Beetroot Pickle I came across a beautiful cut of Copperwood pork chops the other day and I just had them sitting in the freezer because I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with them.  Then I had an epiphany! I really didn't... 😍Bobby Flay😍 posted a super easy Pork Piccata recipe and I thought I should try it and so I did. Like you, this was my first time making this dish. Honestly, if I am keeping it a buck, on a scale of one to dynamite, the flavors in this dish EXPLODED💥! The greatest thing about this dish is how amazingly easy it is to prepare. "Piccata...I don't even know what that is...that doesn't sound easy, Danzii." Trust me, it's literally under an hour to prepare and another 20-30 minutes to meal prep.  Please let me know if you've tried this and tell me about the taste!  xoxo Danzii  Total Prep Time : 60-90 minutes Serves : 2 Ingredients 1-1.5lbs o...
